Ticketing Basics

Events From Start to Finish

When a venue, team, or promoter prepares for an upcoming event, they have hundreds if not thousands of tickets that they want to get into the hands of fans.

That's where AXS comes in.

That's where AXS comes in.

Through our industry-leading services and technology, our event partners give fans a secure and simple way to purchase, receive, and use their tickets. Explore each step of the ticketing process below.

Partnering with Venues, Teams & Promoters

It all starts with our event partners – the venues, teams, and promoters responsible for events. Our partners plan their events and own their ticket inventory, and they use AXS to sell tickets on their behalf. We work directly with these event organisers so you can be confident every ticket you purchase with AXS is 100% official and authentic.

Setting Onsale & Presale Dates

For every event on AXS, our partners tell us how many tickets are available and when they should go on sale through our site and app. In addition to general public onsales, there can be presales, opportunities for select fans to purchase tickets early. Some presales require passwords from third parties like artists, credit card companies and fan clubs.

Deciding Ticket Prices & Fees

Our event partners also decide ticket prices, including the face value and the fees. It’s important to note that fans set the price of resale tickets (see more on resale tickets below), but to keep things fair, we have capped the top price at 10% above the original price paid. After collecting payment from fans for a purchase, AXS keeps a portion of the fees and give the rest, including the entirety of the face value, to our event partners. We use our portion to support and develop our services and technology.

Offering Different Ticket Types

Depending on the event, there can be a few different ticket types available. We clearly identify the ticket type during purchase so you always know exactly what you’re getting.

Tickets
Standard Tickets
These are regular tickets (not premium or resale) with prices set by the venue, team, or promoter. The price of a standard ticket is commonly called “face value.”
AXS Premium
AXS Premium
Some event partners offer AXS Premium tickets, which give fans easy access to great seats at market-value prices. These tickets are available for select events and their prices can change at any time. If available, you’ll see them clearly labelled as “AXS Premium.”
VIP Packages
VIP Packages
Certain events offer VIP packages that include tickets along with other perks, such as exclusive merchandise, meet-and-greets, and more. Our event partners decide if packages will be available, what they’ll include, and how much they’ll cost.
Resale Tickets
Resale Tickets
These are tickets listed for sale by fans at prices set to no more than 10% above price paid. If the venue, team, or promoter allows resale for an event, you’ll see these tickets clearly labelled as “resale.” There are never speculative or fraudulent listings on AXS, so you’ll always receive 100% authentic tickets.

Issuing Refunds When Needed

Once you complete a purchase, your order cannot be refunded unless the event is cancelled or, in some cases, postponed. If your event is cancelled, we’ll automatically refund the payment method used for purchase, and if your event is rescheduled, your tickets will still be valid for the new event date. We’ll email the new date to you as soon as we have it, and if you can’t make it, you will need to contact us to claim a refund. At The O2 & OVO Arena Wembley, you can always sell the tickets to another fan if the new date doesn’t work for you.

Delivering Tickets to Fans

For each event, the event partner decides which ticket delivery methods will be available. These are the most common options: Standard Mail, collect at box office, e-ticket, and most popularly at The O2 & OVO Arena Wembley - AXS Mobile ID. Below, we’ll talk more about AXS Mobile ID, the secure and unique digital code for your tickets. While exact delivery times vary by event and delivery method, you’ll always receive your tickets in time for your event.

AXS Mobile ID

Every ticket purchased on AXS is guaranteed real and authentic, but too many tickets on other sites are fraudulent. Working with our event partners, we’re taking real steps to end this problem.

When you first create an account on AXS, you’re given an AXS Mobile ID, the secure and unique digital code for your tickets.

Mobile Phone

If available for your event, you’ll be able to use your tickets with a simple scan of your AXS Mobile ID in the AXS app – no paper tickets required. Your AXS Mobile ID updates every 60 seconds, which makes it impossible to counterfeit and sell to unsuspecting fans on other sites.

Features

Bot Prevention & Waiting Rooms

For popular events, there are often thousands and thousands of fans trying to get the same tickets. On top of that, some people use ticket-buying “bots” to get tickets with the sole intention of reselling them later for a profit.

To help more real fans get tickets, we’ve invested heavily in technology that stops bots from using our site. For example, many events offer waiting rooms that fans can join shortly before tickets go on sale. Once the waiting room opens, we weed out the bots and then randomly choose fans to search for tickets. While tickets are not guaranteed, the waiting room allows more real fans like you to get a fair shot at seats.

Transferring Tickets

When you buy tickets for friends or family, there’s no need to hand-deliver tickets or wait outside the venue for everyone to show up. Now you can quickly transfer tickets before the event. You’ll see the option to transfer next to the ticket in your account on our site or app.

For some events, our event partners have chosen not to make transfers or shares available. If a ticket is non-transferable, you’ll be notified during purchase. Transfer is available at The O2 and OVO Arena Wembley.

Selling tickets

You’ve been looking forward to an event for weeks, but then something comes up and you can’t make it. It’s a difficult situation but the good news is we’ve made it easy to sell your tickets for many events on AXS. While it’s up to the venue, team, or promoter to allow resale for an event, it’s becoming more and more common.

Unlike many other sites, you don’t need to upload tickets or enter seat info. Simply hit the Sell button next to the tickets in your account and create your listing in a few quick steps. If your tickets sell, we’ll email to let you know and collect your payment from the buyer. The seller will receive payment through the same method made at purchase. Please note, the seller will not be paid until 10 working days post the event taking place. With AXS, fans have a safe, simple and official way to sell tickets.

We’ve put all of these new features and services into one powerful app. Available for iOS and Android, the AXS app makes it easy for fans to discover events and get seats as well as transfer and sell tickets. Most importantly, the AXS app allows you to enter many events with a scan of your AXS Mobile ID, the digital code for your AXS Mobile ID Delivery tickets.
