Musical Style
The band members are inspired by the gray surroundings and general fatigue. According to Yury, they do not make pure post-punk and mix it with various styles. Also, from his words, they were very influenced by the German and Polish new wave, Soviet bands, particularly "Kino", the British "The Cure", and others. They speak well of the bands "Petlya Pristrastiya", "Molchat Doma", and "Skroź." At the beginning, they often performed covers of "Akute" songs.
The band tried to find a drummer, but the members did not like such a sound; instead, they use a drum machine.
In their song and album titles, Nürnberg uses Belarusian Latin. The cover of the first album is adorned with a photograph by Henri Cartier, who is one of the most famous and influential photographers of the 20th century. The album cover "Paharda" is made in the style of Suprematism.
Name
The name of the band comes from the city of Nuremberg and is associated with the history of the coronation of Vytautas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania. The ceremony scheduled for September 8, 1430, did not occur because the Poles did not let through the delegation carrying the crowns of Vytautas and his wife Uliana that were made in Nuremberg. In October in Vilnius, Jogaila proposed a compromise, allowing the coronation, provided that after his death, the crown of the King of Lithuania would belong to one of Jogaila's sons. The last letters of Vytautas indicate that he agreed to such a solution. However, his aspiration to become a king did not materialize: Vytautas suddenly died on October 27, 1430, in Trakai.
